Howdy!

I am the ultimate paranormal fan girl.  When I’m not working on my own fiction, I am a ‘shipper of (primarily) supernatural couples.  If it’s got vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, mummies, zombies and/or aliens, chances are I’ve  seen it, read it, or written about it.

The quirkier the better.

My top obsession is the Sookie/Eric (Sooric) relationship from Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, also known as the Southern Vampire Mysteries (SSN/SVM).  I have been reading the books since 2003, when I discovered Club Dead at a Scifi con.  A telepathic waitress who finds herself caught up in world of supernatural intrigue, surrounded by a slew of sexy supernatural suitors?  Oh, boy!  My inner fan girl went crazy.

This brings us to True Blood, that ever popular HBO show with a bite.  Do I love the show?  Yes.  Is it all I’d hoped it would be from when I first had a fan girl flip out when I found out it was being turned into a TV show?  Yes and no.  Alan Ball is a mad genius, but sometimes I feel like he’s uncomfortable wearing the Sookie Stackhouse skin.  My biggest problem with the show is that I feel like Sookie gets lost as a character in all the supernatural madness.  However, I can separate the two in my head.  Um, barely.  I don’t believe the show is without hope.

This is True Blood’s primary redemption:

Or, as I like to call him, Eric (The Hotness!) Northman, played by the stunning Alexander Skarsgard.  Goddess bless the Sweds for producing this man.  From the moment he stepped on screen as the sexiest of 1,000 year old Vikings, I have been a grateful, devoted internet stalker.

Everybody needs a hobby.

So what about Bill, you may ask?  I respect his character in that I love to hate him.  End of story.  Alcide is oh so  sexy, but not for Sookie, and the only way I will love Quinn is if they cast Vin Diesel to play him.

Oh, and I. LOVE. PAM.  SSN Pam and True Blood Pam.  “Blah blah blah vampire emergency blah.”  Haha.

Other obsessive madness includes the ever corny but still somehow compelling Edward/Bella, Richard/Kahlan, Spike/Buffy (Spuffy), Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake and her sexy supernatural entourage, any couple off Battlestar Galactica, Tom/B’Elanna of Star Trek: Voyager, Castle/Beckett, Rick/Evie, and Jared Leto. Etc.

In real life, I am 25 year-old neurotic ex-journalist agoraphobic.  Think Emily Dickinson with a dash of Mark Twain.  If it wasn’t for the internet, I would probably be in a straight jacket.  I traveled a lot in my youth and in college, so it’s not like I haven’t seen the world… but sometimes I miss it.  Now-a-days, I stay happy by being a dorky fan girl.  Just in case you were doubting my dork status…

That’s me in with the light saber in the Clockwork Orange t-shirt.

And this is cosplay vampire me….

I really do miss going to scifi/fantasy cons.  Remind me to tell you about that one time in the stairwell with the elf ears…. ::snickers::
